A juice cleanse consists of drinking juice during the day instead of eating in order to give the body a break from digestion. The body uses a lot of energy for digestion. Cleansing allows it a valuable break so that it can clean out toxins and bad cells from your body. Getting your circulation and lymph moving each day with walking and stretching is very important to keep toxins moving through and out of your body. Rebounding is an excellent way to get gentle exercise during your cleanse. Also drinking plenty of water to flush toxins out. Skin brushing before bathing or showering is recommended because this will help remove toxins that come through your skin and will also help with toxins in the lymph. Sauna is great to help remove toxin through the skin. Enemas and colonic help greatly in removing toxins more easily as well.
For the first day you may experience hunger if you do not continually sip juice during the day. You may experience a headache if you did not previously ease off of caffeine three days before. Most people experience a surplus of energy but some may become lethargic so it is a good idea to plan for some down time during your cleanse or at least the first few days to see how your body will react. You may feel a range of symptoms and feelings such as nauseous, exhausted, nervous, irritable or elated, blissful and highly spiritual. You may develop bad breath, diarrhea, body odor, and skin eruptions. These are all symptoms of the toxins being released. Make sure to keep your bowels moving with either, enema, colonics, or a gentle laxative such as OxyMag to prevent toxins from being reabsorbed in the large colon.
Cleansing is an intuitive process. Some people chose to cleanse with each new season and some people cleanse for a few days each month. If you feel your body is congested and you are feeling foggy and sluggish then it may be time for a cleanse. The amount of time depends on what you want to accomplish. If you are trying to get a jumpstart to weight loss then 1-3 days will work fine. It you are trying to remove a lot of toxins you may want to cleanse for longer such as 4-7 days. You should have adequate energy and calories to exercise during your cleanse but it is not advised to exercise too strenuously. A cleanse is a time for your body to repair and replenish. If you are exercising too vigorously then you may negate the potential benefits of your cleanse. Gentle exercise and sweating is recommended. Brisk walking, rebounding, and yoga are wonderful during a cleanse.
